Privacy Policy for Pavilion Mahjong

Effective date: 16 September 2026

This policy explains how DifferApps (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use Pavilion Mahjong on iOS or Android.

At a glance: You can play without an account. Game progress is stored on your device. If you choose to sign in, a copy of your progress is stored in Firebase so it can sync across devices.

1. Information stored on your device

The app stores information needed to run the game, including your current game, completed levels, scores, stars, achievements, rewards and inventory, daily-play history, preferences, accessibility choices, sound settings, ad timing, and purchase entitlements. This information remains on your device unless you choose to use cloud save or a third-party service described below.

2. Optional account and cloud save

If you sign in with Google or Apple, Firebase Authentication receives an account identifier and may receive your name and email address from that provider. We store your game-progress profile in Google Cloud Firestore under your Firebase user ID. The cloud-save record includes game progress, scores, achievements, rewards and inventory, a randomly generated app installation identifier, and an update timestamp.

Signing in is optional. Authentication is handled by Google or Apple under their own privacy terms.

3. Usage analytics and crash reports

When Share usage & diagnostics is enabled, the app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect app interactions, screen views, diagnostic information, crash details, device and operating-system information, and a user identifier when signed in. We use this information to understand feature use, diagnose faults, and improve the app.

You can switch this collection off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share usage & diagnostics. Turning it off resets local analytics data and removes unsent crash reports from the device.

4. Advertising

Pavilion Mahjong may show interstitial and rewarded advertisements using Google Mobile Ads. Google may process device information, IP address, ad interactions, and advertising identifiers where permitted to deliver, measure, and protect advertising. Ad availability and personalisation depend on your region, device choices, consent, and the app version.

5. In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We receive the product purchased and transaction status needed to unlock content or restore purchases, but we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

6. How we use and share information

We use information only to provide cloud save and account features, remember your progress, operate purchases and ads, maintain security, understand app performance, fix problems, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app, including Google Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, Apple, and Google Play.

7. Retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you clear it or uninstall the app. Cloud-save and account data remains while your account is active. You can delete your cloud save and Firebase account from the app’s Account screen; local progress intentionally remains on that device unless you separately clear it. See the Pavilion account deletion page for instructions.

8. Children’s privacy

Pavilion Mahjong is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

9. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, subject to their legal safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
